An Important Update to the Previous Article: Ukrainian special forces members are implicated in the murder of Ukrainian Orthodox Monks

Greetings in Christ!

My last article was an open appeal to GOARCH to cease support for the persecutors of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

In that appeal, I reported that three monks were attacked at Sviatohorsk Monastery in Ukraine. One monk was ruthlessly killed. Not only was he stabbed, but he was also shot through the head.

Today, according to one of the survivors, the attackers and murderers are identified as members of some Ukrainian special forces division. The survivor was attacked because when addressed with “Glory to Ukraine,” he responded, “Glory to the Lord God. Save and protect us.” The account continues, Kyriienko said they then began beating him. Wooden beams used for the railing along the descent were nearby, and one of the men took one and began striking him with it. Andriy grabbed hold of the beam in an attempt to stop the beating. According to him, the attacker then pulled a knife from his chest rig and began cutting his hands to force him to let go. Andriy released the beam and remained bent over, holding on to the railing.

He was then ordered to stand up. Kyriienko thought they were going to shoot him. Instead, he said, they stabbed him several times, including in a wound that damaged his lung, and he fell to the ground. According to his account, the men discussed for some time what to do with him before throwing him into a ravine, apparently expecting him to bleed to death.

The reader may find the full article here.

This further information reinforces my appeal to GOARCH. The murder of one monk and the attack on two others was carried out by government personnel. Zelensky is a dictator and a terrorist to faithful Orthodox. He should not be honored in any way by any Orthodox institution.
